Hunting Calendar

In the following table a date indicates that the area is closed to the general public for that day. Deer hunting is allowed on those dates.
Information about waterfowl hunting season will be posted when it becomes available.

Fischer Tract and Steamboat Landing are not a part of the Auto Tour Route. Hunting dates for these areas are shown here.

Upland Game hunting is permitted in the South Upland Area during the Delaware season

Information about hunting waterfowl is available here. Note that the areas open to hunting waterfowl are seperate from the areas served by the Auto Tour route.

The Visitors Center remains open and accessable during all hunting closures. During closure of the Front, or Headquarters area, access to the refuge is via Dutch Neck Road from Route 9. The Visitors Center is reached by using Whitehall Neck Road as normal.

Archery hunting in these areas is permitted between September 4 and January 29 on weekdays during Delaware archery season except during muzzleloader, shotgun and Canada goose hunt days.
